The San Rafael Holiday of Lights
& Winter Wonderland Story
The San Rafael Holiday of Lights, (formerly, The Parade of Lights) and Winter Wonderland Event has been a cherished tradition in Downtown San Rafael, CA for the last 42 years. It has always dazzled locals and visitors alike since its inception, transforming the streets into a festive spectacle of twinkling lights, vibrant floats in the annual parade, a large snow sledding hill, and joyful celebrations within the merchant stores and restaurants on Fourth Street that capture the spirit of the season.
In 2020 the event did not happen as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then the San Rafael Business Improvement District and San Rafael Chamber of Commerce have been doing a great job reviving this event. As the event has grown over the last few years, in 2024 they decided to look for an Event Producer to help them with the production. As a result, they ended up choosing our team, Bay Area Pop Up Events, to produce the event.
We happen to be the same group that produced the event from 2006 through 2019 and we live in the community and have had our offices in San Rafael for over 25 years.
This year’s event will feature a variety of Holiday Exhibitors, Food Trucks, Local Merchants, Non-Profits, Kids Rides and Games, Inflatables, Hands-on art activities, Santa and Friends, The annual Holiday Tree Lighting, heartwarming performances that celebrate local talent, and much more!
Join us as we rekindle the spirit of togetherness that has made this event a beloved hallmark of Downtown San Rafael for over four decades, creating an enchanting backdrop where memories are woven into the fabric of the holiday season.
